Does E-Mail Marketing Work? It Might for Chick-Fil-A.
E-Mail marketing can be viewed as the promotion of products or services via email. It’s one of the methods marketers and advertisers utilize to communicate with customers. Chick-Fil-A recently launched their FREE Spicy Chicken Sandwich campaign. It’s currently being promoted to those in their e-mail marketing campaign database and via their respective social networks. From May 31 to June 5, Chick-fil-A is giving a limited number of FREE Spicy Chicken Sandwiches to customers who make a reservation to the exclusive premiere tasting. It will not be added to the menu until June 7.
Chick-Fil-A has fully integrated their social media and e-mail marketing efforts. When this campaign is completed, they can honestly see their true return on investment. They can not only track it’s redemption but also who actually redeemed. In doing so, the company continues to entice their current base of subscribers and are sure to obtain new ones. This campaign in effective in a number of ways.
- It creates a relationship. The invitation is custom and only redeemed by the individual who made the reservation. Once confirmed, you receive an e-mail from the store operator.
- It’s exclusive. Makes you feel apart of the in-crowd. Participants will walk up to the counter with their invitation and other patrons will not have a clue what’s going on.
- It will create a conversation. Those participating, especially those who enjoy it, are sure to spread the world. Due to the sandwich not being available on the menu until May 7th, others will have to wait until then to try it.
