Facebook Brings Zip Code Targeting to Ads
Facebook recently released a great new feature for advertising, zip code targeting. In a move that boosts the hyper-local advertising advantage on the site, expect many businesses to take advantage of this feature right away.

Before the introduction of this new feature, US advertisers were limited to targeting cities and states within a predetermined radius. The change really opens up avenues for more selective and effective advertising. Besides local restaurants and businesses, the ability to market to such a focused area directly on Facebook will be a big component of upcoming political campaigns from the top down.
Personally I can’t wait to test it out. I took a look through some of our current clients’ Facebook Ad strategies already and see some real gains to be made. In my own zip code, there’s 20 people who Like my client’s page, but that leaves 1,180 others to recruit! This is a long awaited feature and it will be interesting to see how these ads perform.
