What do you think?
So, I just read a really cool article in SmartBrief, the clothing company Diesel just added cameras outside of their dressing rooms in the Spain store locations. They call it Diesel Cam, an interactive camera installed right outside of the fitting rooms that will allow shoppers to try on outfits, walk out of the fitting room, snap a pic and upload to Facebook. Now why would you want to do that, you ask….Well, because of course you want your best friend’s opinion on which top looks better. I mean, we are already doing this via text message, why not take it a step further and ask all of our friends for their opinions and give your favorite brand kudos. Now, let’s just hope they are good comments.
For the consumer this is a great way to show off your new shoes, ask for advice and it’s tons of fun. But it’s really GREAT for the retailer because Diesel is not only getting free, unbiased advertising but now all of those friends who just saw the new outfit Mary is wearing will want one of their own for the big party too. YES, social media is driving foot traffic and selling products! And it gets even better, a Diesel logo will appear at the bottom of the picture uploaded.
Shoppers can log on using a 3rd party program called Facebook Connect and can choose to use the installed video and/or camera to take and upload all the videos and pictures they want. For more information and to visit the video tutorial click here
